Submarines are fitted with flotation tanks which are filled with water to make its weight greater than upthrust hence it sinks.To float,compressed air is pumped into the tank displacing water so that upthrust is greater than weight of the submarine
Submarine has tanks which are filled with air causing its density to be less than the surrounding water hence making it to float. When the submarine dives the tanks are flooded with water causing its density to be greater than water causing it to sink.
