Use the right rule when there’s no external source of current in the circuit since induction is taking. You then can use it to predict the direction of induced current.
Fleming’s right hand rule(dynamo rule) is applied in electromagnetic induction while flemings lefthand rule(motor rule) is applied in magnetic effect of electric current.
Fleming’s right hand is used to determine direction of magnetic field in a current carrying conductor(involves current only) while Fleming’s left hand is used to determine the direction of a conductor in a magnetic field (involves current and magnetism)
