Any connection of the two wires( live and neutral )will always complete a circuit. Birds will only perch on one wire.
Then why is it that when a human being holds the electric carrying wire with one hand ,,he is electrocuted?
Birds can perch on power lines and not because the electricity is always looking for a way to get to the ground. The birds are not touching the ground or anything in contact with the ground, so the electricity will stay in the power line.
