    Ignoring air friction the ball will fall on the vehicle.both ball and vehicle are moving at same speed even in air they will be moving together at same speed.

    On the sides we have streamlined flow hence dust pass at high speed creating region of low pressure hence cannot get in whre there is high pressure.at the back its flat hence turbulent flow forming eddies and whirls hence dust get in.
